Let's talk about autism without talking about it
The theme of the Aut Out Aut 2026 festival is Shadow and its many interpretations in life and the arts.
It happens that the Shadow is told from the perspective of the one who projects it and not from the perspective of the one who receives it (or endures it).
The first attributes to other characteristics that it rejects in itself.
The second suffers a real distortion of personality by identifying with the cumbersome Shadow projected upon them, leading to the stigma of “the different”.
The Shadow, however, becomes an enemy only if we abandon it: the more unconscious it is, in fact, the more it transforms into a puppet that guides us. If we decide to accept it, it is the voice of creativity that unleashes it.
And that is what we want to make people feel, even those who don’t have the words to express it.
